About Us
Inner North Yoga Therapy
Welcome to Inner North Yoga Therapy. This page shares who we are, the journey that led us here, and how we work collaboratively to support your path toward nervous system health and lasting serenity.
Founder’s Journey
Hi, I’m Dr. Atmika Ramsahaye
With a PhD in Yoga and a Master’s in Psychology, I’ve always been passionate about understanding how the mind and body work together. My own journey with chronic stress, burnout, and persistent anxiety led me to yoga therapy—a practice that taught me how to work with my nervous system rather than against it.
Before establishing Inner North Yoga Therapy in Manitoba, I practiced in Mauritius and India, helping clients from all walks of life—including those managing trauma, addiction recovery, chronic pain, and stress—through personalized yoga therapy and mindfulness-based interventions. I also bring research experience, having developed and tested yoga modules for conditions like PTSD, substance use disorders, and sickle cell disease, with publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international yoga conferences.
I combine my psychology expertise with trauma-sensitive yoga, sound therapy, and breathwork to support mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Whether working one-on-one or with corporate teams, my goal is to help you release tension, build resilience, and reconnect with your body and mind in a meaningful, lasting way.
Navigating my own path through trauma and chronic strain led me to specialize in somatic approaches to wellness. This personal history is what drives Inner North today—a commitment to helping others find the same 'inner north' or sense of true alignment. I believe that healing is not about fixing something that is broken, but about creating the conditions of safety and support where the nervous system can naturally recalibrate.
Today, I work with individuals facing burnout, anxiety, and long-term tension, offering a compassionate space for collaborative healing. In Winnipeg, our sessions are designed to be a grounded sanctuary where you can explore movement and breath at a pace that feels sustainable for you. My aim is to walk alongside you as you rediscover the innate resilience and peace that resides within your own body.
